At StrokeCoach, we believe your handwriting practice is yours alone. Our privacy philosophy is simple: We don't collect, store, or upload your personal data.

1. Data Collection & Privacy

StrokeCoach does NOT collect your personal information, usage data, or handwriting content. Every character you practice, every wordbook you create, and every tracing sheet you generate stays entirely on your device. We have no servers, no cloud storage, and no way to access your data.

The app does not require account registration, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information.

2. Storage & Local Processing

Everything lives on your device. StrokeCoach uses a local SQLite database (Drift) to store your wordbooks, practice history, and app preferences. This data never leaves your phone.

Photo Recognition (OCR): When you use the photo recognition feature, the app accesses your camera to capture an image. The image is processed entirely on your device . No image is ever uploaded to any server or shared with any third party.

3. Camera Access

StrokeCoach requires camera access solely for the purpose of capturing Chinese characters for recognition and stroke order lookup. The app does not access your photo library, and captured images are processed in temporary memory and discarded after recognition is complete.

4. Third-Party Services

StrokeCoach does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The app functions completely standalone on your device.

5. Payments & Purchases

App Store Purchases: All transactions for the Pro lifetime upgrade are processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address.

Restore Purchases: You can restore your previous Pro purchase at any time through the app's settings menu. The restoration process is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework.

6. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete individual wordbooks within the app, or remove the app entirely from your device to erase all locally stored data. No residual data remains on any external server because no data was ever sent there.

7. Children's Privacy

StrokeCoach does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we have no servers, no accounts, and no data collection of any kind, there is no mechanism by which we could knowingly or unknowingly obtain children's data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Since we don't collect your contact information, we encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information.
